Learn who He is, why He loves you, and how He can transform your life.
The question we all must answer was asked by Jesus Himself when
he asked, “But whom say ye that I am?” (Mark 8:27) The Bible gives us the ability to know who Jesus is and why it is so important to have a relationship with Him.
WHY JESUS?
realize these four things.
God sent His Son to introduce you to Himself, but first He wants you to know a few things about yourself.
First, realize you are loved by God.
In the Bible, we learn that God loves everyone regardless of their background, race, age, or any other factor. God loves you and desires to
have a personal relationship with you.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Second, realize you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
No one is perfect. We ALL have broken God’s commandments. This is called sin. The Bible tells us that sin separates us from God.
"Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot
save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your
iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:1-2)
Third, realize there is a price to be paid for sin.
The consequence of our sin is death. This is not only a physical death but also an eternal separation from God in a place called Hell.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
Finally, realize Jesus died to pay for your sins.
The Bible teaches us that Jesus died on the cross, not because He was guilty, but because we are. He died for the sins of the whole world. If you believe in Him, He can save you today and give you eternal life in Heaven. He has power over the grave as demonstrated by His resurrection.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:" (John 11:25)
Trust Jesus
You can begin a relationship with Jesus right now by simply praying and asking the Lord to become your Savior. Pray something like this: Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please forgive me and cleanse me through the blood of Jesus. I ask You to come into my heart and take me to Heaven when I die. In Jesus's name, amen.
